Consist of documents pertaining to Feiss' work as an industrial consultant, following his disaffiliation with the Joseph & Feiss Company (1925-1942). The bulk of the files are work measurement materials, used in productivity studies conducted at the Tabor Manufacturing Company in Philadelphia. Also correspondence, notes, and reports on scientific management and labor relations policies. Include work measurement forms for employment, personnel, job instructions, wage differentials, inventory, and expenses; charts; patent, with diagrams, for work measurement device (1918); and routing materials forms for U.S. Army Ordinance Division (1918). Also memoranda by Feiss on the economic policies of the Joseph & Feiss Company (1925); lecture notes for a course taught by Feiss on management theory (University of California, 1942); and a paper on a coded filing system. Feiss' correspondence includes personal correspondence with various friends and colleagues regarding his disaffiliation with Joseph and Feiss Company (1925-1926); general correspondence pertaining to economics and social policies (1928-1944) and with William O. Stillman on Feiss' consulting work and the R.A. Feiss Company organization (1927-1935). Also, correspondence and related documents on the Needle Trades Conference, New York City, 1918. Major correspondents include Jacob Abt (Chicago Clothiers), and I.M. Getasky (Cloaks and Suits Association) on war economics, U.S. War Labor Board policies, and general problems of the clothing industry (1918).
